We received almost an inch of rain last night, we will be cart paths only. We have moved all of the tees forward to help speed up play. Bunkers are a mess and will take some time to repair and may not be finished today. Everything is soaked.
Now for some interesting turf technical stuff. This was the highest moisture meter reading we ever took, 50 this morning. With 86 degrees on the way this would make me worry but at the same time the soil temperatures are at 70 degrees. Today soil temperature will be the deciding factor for syringing greens. If the soil temps get too high we would have to add water to cool them down. High soil and surface temps will boil the plant crown and the greens would begin to decline. Never a dull moment in the turf business.
