I have had a lot of questions about the front of the greens that were sodded last year concerning their color. This is a picture from 10 green with a distinct line showing. On the right is Poa on the left is Penn A-4 Bentgrass. In the spring and fall months the Poa likes the cooler temperature and in the summer months the Bentgrass is stronger. So for that reason the A-4 is going to take a little while longer to fill in because of the cooler temps. Also there is a lot of topdressing underneath that is showing. We are topdressing these areas more to try to make these areas a smoother putting surface.
